Dorena L. Moore
Chief Financial Officer
Dorena began in 2011 as Controller, and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2014. She is a Certified Public Accountant with many years of experience working with non-profits, both religious and secular. Before joining Heartspring, she was the Director of Finance at FUMC Houston and has more than 10 years of experience in the credit union industry as a Chief Financial Officer.
Sarah F. Rich
Sarah joined Heartspring in 2015 as Administrative Assistant. She has a degree in multidisciplinary studies from the University of Texas – San Antonio with concentrations in physics, math, and business administration. Sarah handles various administrative duties, research and special projects.
Rev. C.J. Taylor
C.J. has been with the Foundation since 1997 and was promoted to President / CEO in 2003. C.J. is ordained United Methodist Clergy with more than 30 years experience in working with churches, including serving as pastor or associate pastor to various Texas Conference congregations.
Edgar joined Heartspring in December 2014 as Controller. He holds multiple degrees from the University of Houston, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Edgar has many years of experience working in private industry, Big 4 accounting, and non-profit healthcare.
Cheryl joined Heartspring in 2012 as Loan Officer, and works in our North Office in Longview, TX. She has an extensive background in banking, real estate and sales. Prior to joining Heartspring, Cheryl worked in the banking industry for 25 years, and most recently in real estate and sales for a hotel management company.
Krystol B. Wheeler
Director of Communications
On staff since 2007, Krystol has a BA in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Communication from the University of Houston. In 2016 she became certified as a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt. She is responsible for strategic planning development and implementation, branding, and marketing. Krystol manages the website, newsletter and other publications.
Rev. Mark Woodward
VP of Development
Mark joined Heartspring in 2015 as VP of Development. He has a degree in business administration from Sam Houston State University, and is ordained United Methodist Clergy. He has served the Texas Conference in multiple capacities over the years, including pastoring seven churches, most recently as senior pastor of FUMC Willis.
